25 arrested in Rajshahi city Including 3 in Special Operation

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) arrested 25 individuals, including three in a special operation, over the past 24 hours ending Sunday in various parts of the city, said an RMP press release.
The special operation targeted suspects linked to attacks on the anti-discrimination student movement, bomb blasts, terrorism, and other crimes, resulting in the arrest of three individuals: Fazr Ali, 57, Md. Shimul, 35, and Md. Rafiqul Islam, 50.
Fazr Ali, son of Neyamat Ali from Uzirpukur in Paba thana, is a former president of Awami League’s Unit 8, Parila Union, and Ward 8. Shimul, an Awami League activist and son of Md. Jahangir, hails from Bashar Road in Boalia thana. Rafiqul Islam, son of the late Shamsuddin, is from Tika Para in the same thana.
In addition, RMP’s thana and Detective Branch (DB) operations led to 22 other arrests: six with pending warrants, two in drug-related cases, and 14 for various offenses.
Legal action has been initiated against all suspects, police said.
