
1386 bottles of Indian liquor seized in Sherpur

Jhenaigati Thana Police seized 1386 bottles of Indian liquo on Saturday in the Salma Rubber Garden, located near the Indian border in Nalkura Union of the upazila.
According to police sources, acting on a tip-off about a large consignment of Indian liquor being smuggled through the Salma Rubber Garden near the Sandhyakura border, a police team led by Officer-in-Charge Al Amin conducted a raid around 5 AM.
Sensing the police presence, the smugglers abandoned the liquor and fled. The police then recovered 1386 bottles of various brands of Indian liquor left behind by the smugglers. The estimated market value of the seized liquor is approximately 40 lakh taka.
OC Md. Al Amin confirmed the incident and stated that a case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act. He added that such operations will continue to curb drug smuggling.
