13 DU students get Nurul Islam Memorial Scholarship

Thirteen students of Dhaka University from different academic years and departments have received the 'Md. Nurul Islam Memorial Trust Fund Scholarship' for their outstanding results in the examination.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam was present as the chief guest at a function held at the Fourth Class Employees Union meeting room on Monday evening and handed over the scholarship cheques and certificates to the students.
Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury presided over the function. Dhaka University Class IV Employees Union President Md. Shahjahan, former president Mobarak Hossain and former general secretary Md. Abdul Hannan Miji were present. Class IV Employees Union General Secretary Md. Selim Mia conducted the function.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam paid tribute to the memory of the late Nurul Islam. Congratulating the scholarship recipients, the Vice-Chancellor said that students should develop into skilled human resources and good citizens through proper utilization of time and opportunities.
The scholarship recipients are: Md. Mehedi Hasan (Bangla), Barnali Mizi (English), Md. Uday Bhuiyan (Management), Simeon Ibn Zaman Shafwan (Law), Md. Mehedi Hasan (Marketing), Md. Kalim Ullah (Finance), Piyal Das (Tourism and Hospitality Management), Sumaiya Rahman (Organization Strategy and Leadership), Sabiha Alam Raika (Economics), Rumana Alam Nishi (Economics), Rubia Alam Bithi (Psychology), Iffat Zerin Parisa (International Relations) and Rabia Islam Rithi (Oriental Arts).
