Professor Md. Maksudur Rahman Sarkar FCMA, an independent director of the bank and chairman of the Department of Accounting, University of Dhaka, has been elected as the chairman of the board of directors of SBAC Bank PLC. Makshudur Rahman Sarkar joined the same department as a teacher after securing first class first in B.Com (Hons) and M.Com examinations in Accounting from Dhaka University. Later, he obtained an MBA degree in Finance from the University of New Brunswick, Canada. He obtained Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level-1 from the Association for Investment Management and Research, USA and FCMA Professional degree from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB). Earlier, he completed his higher studies on scholarships in various universities of the Canadian Commonwealth and the USA. Makshudur Rahman also ranked in the merit list of Comilla Education Board in both the secondary and higher secondary examinations.
