BIJC pays tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia

The Bangladesh Independent Journalists Council (BIJC) has expressed its deep respect and paid glowing tributes to three-time former Prime Minister and martyred leader Begum Khaleda Zia, recalling her contributions to democratic governance and press freedom in the country.
In a press release issued on Saturday by the Central Committee of the BIJC, leaders of the organization stated that the late leader's immense contributions to freedom of the press, freedom of expression, and the overall democratic advancement of Bangladesh will be remembered with reverence.
The journalism body highlighted that under her leadership and guidance, groundbreaking developments were achieved across various sectors of the nation.
"The Bangladesh Independent Journalists Council prays for the eternal peace and salvation of her departed soul and conveys its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the people of the country," the statement added.
