Suspect detained with electric shock machine near Jatrabari Puja Mandap by Ansar

A 25-year-old youth was detained by law enforcement personnel near the Kajlarpar Sarbajanin Matri Puja Mandap in the Jatrabari area of the capital around 4:00 pm on Monday thwarting a potential sabotage attempt amid strict holiday security.
The suspect, identified as Rabbi, 25, was spotted moving suspiciously near the puja venue by a joint team comprising Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) Assistant Section Commander Md. Shahadat Hossain, VDP members, and local police.
Upon searching the suspect, law enforcement officers recovered a black electric shock device from his possession, which sparked immediate concern among local residents and visitors.
The detained individual was taken into custody at Jatrabari Police Station for questioning. Ansar-VDP personnel, along with local administration and police, maintain heightened vigilance across religious venues to ensure seamless security throughout the festival.
