A prayer gathering was organized by Islami Andolan Bangladesh Barisal district branch, seeking forgiveness for the souls of the martyrs of the July mass uprising on Wednesday.
The prayer meeting was presided over by the branch president, Principal Mawlana Muhammad Sirajul Islam. Present at the event were family members of the July martyrs and various level leaders of the organization.
In their speeches at the prayer gathering, speakers said, the way students sacrificed their fresh lives to overthrow the fascist government and free Bangladesh from fascism, the nation will never forget them. The martyrs will receive the best reward from the Almighty Allah in return.
Even today, many students and youths have embraced disability and helplessness by losing their limbs, but the cherished dream of building a new Bangladesh has not materialized in the slightest. Once again, a certain quarter is conspiring to create a fascist environment. The nation must remain vigilant to resist them.
At the prayer gathering, honors for the July martyrs were handed over to their family members.
