Consultation workshop on typhoid vaccination held in Jhenaidah

A consultation workshop was held in Jhenaidah on the occasion of the implementation of the typhoid vaccination campaign 2025.
The workshop was held at the conference room of the Arappur Islamic Foundation office in the district town on Tuesday afternoon. 40 media personnel working in the district participated in it.
District Information Officer Mohammad Abdur Rouf presided over the workshop and the chief guest was Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Superintendent of Jhenaidah 250-bed General Hospital.
Deputy Director (Field Promotion) of the Department of Mass Communication Fahima Jahan, District Education Officer Md. Lutfar Rahman, Deputy Director of the Islamic Foundation Mohammad Rizaul Karim, Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mithila Islam and Assistant Director of the Department of Mass Communication Ujjwal Hossain.
Jhenaidah Press Club President Asif Kajal, Vice President Asif Iqbal Makhon, General Secretary Aminul Islam Liton, Former President Alauddin Azad, Former General Secretary Mahmud Hasan Tipu and others were present at the workshop.
The speakers at the workshop said that typhoid is a bacterial disease. It spreads to the human body through water and food.
Typhoid vaccine will be given to children and adolescents aged 9 months to 15 years across the country from October 12. This vaccination program will be implemented through a special campaign across the country.
It was informed at the workshop that a target of 489,000 registrations has been set for online vaccination in Jhenaidah district. But so far, only 153,000 have been registered online.
