Coast Guard seized huge banned polythene in Charfession

The Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized approximately 2,000 kilograms of banned polythene bags worth around Tk 8 lakh during a special drive in Charfession Upazila of Bhola.
Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan, Media Officer at Coast Guard Headquarters, said this in a press release on Sunday morning. .
According to the Coast Guard, acting on a tip-off, a team from the Coast Guard Outpost Lalmohan conducted a special operation near the Charfession Bazar area on Saturday afternoon at around 4:00 PM. During the drive, search operations across four local shops led to the recovery of the illegal polythene stock.
The seized polythene has subsequently been handed over to the Department of Environment in Bhola for necessary legal action under existing regulations.
The Coast Guard reiterated that its operations to protect the environment and curb illegal practices will continue in the future.
