Two jewelers killed in road accident in Pangsha

 Two jewelers riding a motorcycle were killed in a head-on collision with a drum truck in Pangsha upazila of Rajbari  on  Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway in the Naopara Pagla More area of Maashpara union of the upazila at around 3:30 pm on Wednesday. 
 
The deceased are - Korban Sheikh (55), son of the late Habu Sheikh of Kamalapur village in Khoksha upazila of Kushtia district, and Ashok Kumar Roy (65), son of the late Foni Bhushan Roy of Janipur village in the same upazila. Korban Sheikh Khoksha was the owner of 'Matru Jewelers' in Kamalapur Old Bazaar and Ashok Roy was the owner of 'Krishna Jewelers' in Moragachha area.
 
Eyewitnesses said that the two deceased businessmen were returning home on a motorcycle from Pangsha after completing business work. On the way, their motorcycle collided head-on with an unknown drum truck in the Naopara Pagaler More Battala area. They were seriously injured on the spot. They were quickly rescued and taken to the Pangsha Upazila Health Complex, where the doctors declared them dead.
 
Dr. Tansu Soma, the on-duty doctor at the Pangsha Upazila Health Complex, said, “After the accident, both of them were brought dead to the hospital.”
 
SI Sajjad Hossain of Pangsha Highway Police Station said, “After the accident, they were quickly rescued with the help of the fire service and taken to the Pangsha Hospital, where the doctors declared them dead. Although the families of the deceased did not file any complaint, an accidental death case will be filed by the family.” He added that it is not yet confirmed which drum truck was involved in the accident. The matter is being investigated.
