
Sri Sri Jagannath Dev Rath Yatra Festival begins in Kamalganj

Sri Sri Jagannath Dev Rath Yatra Festival, one of the religious festivals of Sanatan Dharma, has begun with great enthusiasm in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar.
Kamalganj Rath Yatra Celebration Committee has organized various programs for 9 days.
A colourful procession of Sri Sri Jagannath Dev's chariot was organized by the Rath Yatra Celebration Committee from Kamalganj Central Durga Bari in Bhanugach Bazar on Friday noon.
BNP National Executive Committee member Alhaj Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury (Haji Mujib) was present as the chief guest. Kamalganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Makhon Chandra Sutradhar formally inaugurated the Rath Yatra procession.
Under the chairmanship of Rath Yatra Celebration Council President Promesh Pal and moderated by Suman Dey, Kamalganj Police Station OC Abu Jafar Md. Mahfuzul Kabir, District BNP Convening Committee Member Durud Ahmed, Upazila BNP Joint Convener Md. Abul Hossain, Bhanugach Bazar Municipal Merchants' Association Vice President Kazi Mamunur Rashid, Upazila Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council President Shankar Lal Saha, Upazila Puja Celebration Council President Shyamal Chandra Das, General Secretary Praneet Ranjan Debnath, Organizational Secretary Pratyush Dhar, Kamalganj Central Durgabari Management Committee President Pradeep Dutto Rentu and General Secretary Liton Dutto were present as special guests.
The procession circled the main roads of Bhanugach Bazar and ended at the Central Durgabari. Hundreds of men and women from traditional communities participated in the Rath Yatra procession.
On the occasion of the Rath Yatra of Sri Sri Jagannath Dev, various programs have been organized for 9 days by the Rath Yatra Celebration Council at Kamalganj Central Sri Sri Durgabari.
The 9-day program includes - Mangal Aarti, Darshan Aarti, Gita Parayan, Mahabhograg, religious discussion meeting, Harinam Sankirtan, Mahaprasad distribution, Bhagavat Katha and Srimad Bhagavat Gita Path, Aarti Kirtan.
Meanwhile, various programs including religious discussion meeting were organized at Jagannath Temple of Rahimpur Union of the upazila on the occasion of the Rath Yatra of Sri Sri Jagannath Dev. In addition, the Rath Yatra procession started from Shamshernagar Kalibari, Shamshernagar Tea Garden, Alinagar Tea Garden, Patrakhola Tea Garden, Champara Tea Garden, Kurma Tea Garden along with Namahatta Sangha at Kamalganj ISKCON Temple at 4 pm on Friday. In addition, 9-day long programs have been organized at various places including Patan Ushar, Sri Surya, Mrittinga Tea Garden, Siddheshwarpur, Kalarayabil, Tilakpur and other monasteries and temples.
