Moyna Begum was happy to get a job at Rana Plaza in the Savar bus stand area of Dhaka, thanks to her job in the garment industry, leaving behind a family of poverty. On April 24, 2013, who knew that extreme misery would descend upon her life. Although she survived the Rana Plaza collapse, Moyna Begum is now losing the battle for her life due to injuries.

Landless Moyna Begum suffered serious injuries to her chest, stomach and legs in the Rana Plaza collapse. She received government treatment at Enam Medical in Savar, Dhaka, but after two months of returning home, her medical services were stopped due to lack of funds. Although some treatment was provided at a snail's pace to reach people, it is now completely closed due to financial reasons. Injured Moyna Begum is the wife of Md. Babu of Bangalpara village in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi.

On the spot, it was seen that the sick Moyna Begum lives in a room with her husband and children. Due to the lack of treatment, she is constantly struggling with pain and suffering. Moyna's wandering eyes say that it is better to die than to live in such pain, hoping for a little happiness. Although many people have received many kinds of help and assistance, Moyna's family has not received any help. In a family of 4, Moyna's husband Babu is pulling the strings of the family alone. The family has forgotten to dream because of the NGO loans and the money owed to people. They are also eating separately after the son and daughter got married. Now the old and the old are in trouble. Moyna's husband Babu has also become ill due to his age. However, Moyna has started receiving disability allowance for some time now. Apart from that, the family does not receive any other government or private allowance.

In this regard, the injured Moyna Begum said, "I have been living in the agony of death for more than a decade due to lack of screams. Death is better than living like this. God can see so many people, but He cannot see me."

Md. Babu, the elderly husband of injured Moyna Begum, said, "Even though I have a disability card, I don't get any allowance. I spent money on it and now it's not working. My wife's treatment has completely stopped and there is no food at home. I don't know where to go or what to do as an elderly person. People don't even call me for work anymore."

Hafez Ali, a neighbor of the injured Maina, said, "I am also a poor person. I often give them food and drinks. If I had money, I would give them. They are in great trouble. If the government had helped them, they would have been a little better."

In this regard, Puthia UNO  Liakat Salman said, "We will arrange disability allowance for him. In addition, assistance will be provided by the upazila administration on a priority basis."
