The election of the new executive committee of the Pirgachha Press Club of Rangpur was held in a festive atmosphere.
Rabiul Alam Biplob, Correspondent of Daily Kaler Kantho and Sokaler Bani, was elected as the president for the next three years, and Abdul Kuddus Sarkar, Correspondent of Daily Sangbad, was elected as the general secretary.
The results were announced after the election at the temporary office of the Press Club on Saturday. Enthusiasm and enthusiasm were seen among the journalists surrounding the election.
The other elected members of the executive committee are Senior Vice President Fazlur Rahman (Bhorer Darpan), Vice President Harun Or Rashid Babu (Amar Desh), Joint Secretary Ekramul Islam (Jugantar), Organizing Secretary Abu Raihan (Sakal Bela), Treasurer Monowar Hossain Sujon (NTV Online), Office Secretary Manjurul Alam Milon (Bangladesh Bulletin), Publicity and Publication Secretary Habibur Rahman Habib (Tista Sangbad). In addition, Asaduzzaman Manik (Ajkal Khabor) and Masud Rana (The Country Today) have been elected as executive members.
At this time, the newly elected journalist leaders pledged to practice constructive journalism and show the courage to stand firm on the path of truth and justice.
Newly -elected president Rabiul Alam Biplob said, 'We will all work together to protect the rights and dignity of journalists and provide objective news. Our goal is to build the Pirgachha Press Club as an ideal and strong organization.'
After the election, the newly elected committee was congratulated by upazila administration officials, leaders of political organizations, teachers, representatives of socio-cultural and voluntary organizations and local dignitaries.
