
Partner Field School Congress held in Matiranga

A day-long Partner Field School Congress was held in Matiranga, Khagrachhari under the 2024-2025 fiscal year Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (PARTNERS).
On Thursday (June 26), at 10 am, a discussion meeting was held at the Upazila Auditorium under the initiative of the Department of Agricultural Extension and organized by the Upazila Agriculture Office.
Matiranga UNO Manjur Alam was present as the chief guest, while Khagrachhari Department of Agricultural Extension Deputy Director Krishibid Bashirul Alam, special guest Upazila Cooperative Officer Aman Ullah, Matiranga Municipality BNP President Shah Jalal Kajal.
The meeting was moderated by Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer M Nur Mohammad, and the Upazila Agriculture Officer, Krishibid Sabuj Ali, delivered the welcome speech.
The speakers at the meeting said that the formulation of GAP standards and protocols, providing training on GAP to farmers and manpower involved in issuing certificates, increasing the area of fruit and vegetable cultivation and area capable of meeting the standards. Providing various guidelines to farmers to work in coordination with the Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers as assistants of the Department of Agriculture, climate-friendly farming, increasing public-private partnerships to increase the capacity of farmers and building a dependent agriculture.
The participants of the event said that they were very pleased to learn new information on various crops by participating in such a workshop of the Department of Agricultural Extension. Which will be useful for farmers to implement at the field level.
Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (GAP) provides certificates for foreign exports of crops such as mango, guava, banana, gourd, potato, cabbage, cauliflower, papaya, brinjal, lemon, cucumber, etc. through good agricultural practices. All those vegetables and fruits are presented at the Partner Field School Congress.
Meanwhile, 100 farmers from the upazila participated in the Partner Field School Congress event.
