
Int'l Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking observed in Gopalganj

The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was observed in Gopalganj with due dignity on Thursday.
A colourful rally, discussion meeting, and prize distribution ceremony were organized.
A vibrant rally was brought out in the morning from the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. After parading through the main roads of the town, it concluded at the same location.
Following the rally, a discussion meeting was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner. The session was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Muhammad Kamruzzaman.
Other speakers included Civil Surgeon Dr. Abu Said Md. Faruk, Additional District Magistrate S. M. Tarek Sultan, and Assistant Director of the Department of Narcotics Control Mohammad Nabi Newaz.
After the discussion, the Deputy Commissioner distributed prizes among the students who participated in drug awareness competitions.
The event was attended by officials from various government departments, teachers and students, members of the civil society, and journalists. The discussion called upon everyone to come forward in building an environmentally friendly and drug-free society.
