Old woman's body recovered from Narsingdi banana orchard

Police recovered the bloody body of an elderly woman named Golmeher Begum (50) from Kalabagan in Narsingdi. Police recovered the body from Kalabagan near the house in Madhya Shilmandi village of Sadar upazila at around 6:30 pm on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Ali, wife of the deceased. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Narsingdi Sadar Police Station Saugatul Alam confirmed the information.
Police and family members said Golmeher Begum went to the orchard next to the house to mow the goats at noon. As Golmeh did not return home in the afternoon, the family members started searching in various places in the area. Later at around 6.30 pm, the locals found the body inside the banana orchard and informed the police.
At that time the relatives got the news and identified his body. Police later recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Police believe that he was stabbed in both hands and neck with a sharp weapon.
Narsingdi Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sawgatul Alam said he died on the spot due to excessive bleeding caused by a sharp weapon. The body has been sent to the morgue of Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Police are working to unravel the mystery of the incident.
