A case has been filed at Gopalganj Sadar Police Station regarding the clash during the National Citizen Party’s (NCP) July March program. The case names 75 individuals and lists an additional 400 unidentified persons as accused.
The case was filed on Thursday night (July 17) by Police Inspector Ahmed Ali of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station. The matter was confirmed by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the station, Mir Md. Sajedur Rahman.
According to the case statement, during the NCP’s program, incidents of vandalism and arson of police vehicles, attacks, obstruction of government duties, and violent activities took place.
Notably, on Wednesday (July 16), it is alleged that an attack was carried out on the NCP’s convoy as they were leaving after a public meeting. This led to a prolonged clash involving NCP activists.
To control the situation, a curfew was imposed from that night, which has been extended until Friday. The administration has stated that the situation is now under control .
