The 48th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, the youth wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), will be observed on Tuesday.

The organisation has announced a two-day programme to mark the anniversary.

The programmes include placing floral wreaths and offering prayers at the graves of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam, and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia; blood donation; free medical camps; discussion meetings; rallies; gatherings; tree plantation; cleanliness drives; releasing fish fry; and distributing food among destitute people.

According to the announced programme, floral wreaths will be placed and prayers offered at 11am tomorrow at the graves of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam, the proclaimer of independence, proponent of multiparty democracy, architect of modern Bangladesh and founder of Nationalist Jubo Dal, and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, the Mother of Democracy, at Zia Udyan in Agargaon of the capital.

BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi will attend the programme as the chief guest. Leaders and activists of Jubo Dal’s central committee and its Dhaka metropolitan north and south units will participate in the event.

On the same day, a blood donation programme and a free medical camp will begin at noon on the ground floor of the party’s central office in Naya Paltan. Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi will inaugurate the programmes as the chief guest, according to a press release issued here today.

On October 27, Jubo Dal units in districts and metropolitan areas across the country will organise various socially oriented activities at scheduled times. These will include discussion meetings, rallies, gatherings, voluntary blood donation programmes, free medical camps, tree plantation, cleanliness drives, releasing fish fry and distributing food among destitute people.

On October 28, upazila, thana, municipal and subordinate units will organise similar programmes in their respective areas at times convenient to them.
