GAU secures top position again in WURI Global Rankings

In a proud moment for agriculture-driven Bangladesh, Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) has once again secured the top position among all public universities in the country in the WURI Ranking 2025, under the categories of “Technology and Development Application” and “Global Top Innovative Universities.”
The WURI Ranking 2025, published on Thursday (July 10) on the organization’s official website, features 16 categories evaluating innovation, technology integration, and institutional impact across global higher education institutions.
GAU has been ranked 77th globally among the top 100 universities contributing significantly to technological advancement and innovation.
Moreover, the university stands at 331st place among the world’s top 400 most innovative universities making it the highest-ranked public university in Bangladesh in this category. Remarkably, GAU had also achieved the top position among public universities in Bangladesh for technological innovation in the 2024 WURI Ranking. Earlier this year, GAU was named the best university in Bangladesh in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Subject Ranking 2025, securing the number one spot in the Life Sciences category among both public and private universities. Additionally, in the THE Asia University Rankings 2025, GAU ranked highest among all agricultural universities in the country. In June 2025, GAU was recognized as the leading public university in Bangladesh in the THE University Impact Ranking 2025.
The university had also previously earned the distinction of being the top university in the country in the Scimago Rankings for two consecutive years 2021 and 2022 and held a prestigious position in the QS Rankings 2023. In response to this series of accolades, Professor Dr. GKM Mustafizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of GAU, expressed deep gratitude and pride, “This remarkable achievement in the WURI Ranking 2025 is not just a victory for our university it is a reflection of Bangladesh’s progress in agricultural science and technology-driven development.
