Father, son arrested with 1.1 -kg of cannabis in Madan

A father and his son have been arrested with 1.1 kg of cannabis in Madan.
They were apprehended by UNO Oliduzzaman, who later handed them over to the police.
According to police sources, Tinkur Pal (45), a small-scale businessman at Dewan Bazar in Madan town, has been running a drug trade for a long time under the guise of selling betel leaf, cigarettes, and medicinal plants. His shop had become a gathering place for local young men and even school students from the afternoon until late at night. The Dewan Bazar Businessmen’s Association had warned him several times but to no avail.
On Wednesday night, acting on a tip-off, UNO Oliduzzaman conducted a raid on Tinkur Pal’s shop in Dewan Bazar and recovered 1.1 kg of cannabis. During the raid, local businessmen and curious onlookers gathered at the scene.
OC of Madan Police Station, Naim Mohammad Nadim Hasan said, the UNO sir handed over Tinkur Pal and his son, Hridoy Pal (17), to the police station on Wednesday night after apprehending them from a shop in Dewan Bazar with 1.1 kg of cannabis. We have filed a regular case against them under the Narcotics Control Act, and they have been sent to the Netrakona court on Thursday."
