
90-kg of venison seized, boat seized in Coast Guard raid in Patharghata

Bangladesh Coast Guard in a special operation seized 90-kilograms of vension with a boat at Patharghata in Barguna on Friday night.
Coast Guard media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque informed this in a press release on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, on Friday night at at around 10:00 pm, members of Coast Guard Station Patharghata conducted a special drive in the Harinaghat area adjacent to the Bishkhali River under Patharghata Police Station in Barguna. During the operation, they searched a suspicious engine-run wooden boat and seized 90 kilograms of venison along with the boat. However, the poachers managed to flee sensing the presence of the Coast Guard, and no arrests could be made.
The seized venison and the confiscated boat were later handed over to the Patharghata Forest Department for further legal action.
To maintain law and order across the country, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has been conducting round-the-clock patrols, significantly improving the law and order situation in coastal and riverside areas under its jurisdiction. The Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future
