
Huge quantity of drugs recovered in Manirampur, three traders arrested

Khulna Divisional Detective Team of the Narcotics Control Department conducted a surprise operation in the border villages of Manoharpur and Shantala in Manirampur and Keshabpur upazilas of Jashore and recovered a huge quantity of foreign liquor, phensedyl, yaba and ganja recently.
Three drug traders were arrested during this operation. They conducted this operation based on secret information. Two cases have been filed against four people in two separate police stations in this regard.
According to the case source, the Khulna Divisional Detective Team of the Narcotics Control Department conducted an operation in the villages of Manoharpur in Manirampur upazila of Jashore and Santala in Keshabpur upazila based on secret information.
At that time, the detective team searched the house of notorious drug dealer Abu Raihan (32), son of Shawkat Gazi, of Shantala village in Keshabpur upazila and recovered 9 bottles of foreign liquor. Later, based on the information given by Raihan, the houses of Sagar Gazi (28), son of the deceased Chafar Ali Gazi of Monoharpur village in Monirampur upazila, and Raju Bairagi alias Paran (25), son of Shyamal Bairagi from Arua village in Keshabpur upazila were searched. At that time, the detective team mentioned in the case that they were arrested along with recovering 46 more bottles of foreign liquor and 30 bottles of phensidyl from their houses.
However, local witnesses said that during the operation, the Khulna Divisional Detective Team of the Narcotics Control Department recovered a total of 77 bottles of foreign liquor, 40 bottles of phensidyl, about 6 kg of marijuana, two mobile phones and several yaba pills along with cash from the houses of the three arrested.
In addition, a Suzuki Gixxer motorcycle with Khulna registration number L-11-8530 was seized during the incident. Meanwhile, some of their associates, drug dealers, were able to escape after a signal from Inspector (Detective) Russell Ali, who was leading the team. Local witnesses alleged that a case was filed with the concerned police station by hiding the correct information in the seized goods list.
Meanwhile, sources from the concerned police station said, in the wake of the incident, Inspector (Detective) Russell Ali filed a case against 2 accused at Manirampur Police Station on Thursday.
