Zia Bahini chief detained by Coast Guard with looted weapons in Maheshkhali

The Coast Guard detained the notorious, violent and most wanted dacoit 'Zia Bhani 'chief Ziaur Rahman and his accomplice Mohiuddin along with one pistol, one domestic pistol, two magazines and 22 rounds of ammunition looted from the police in Maheshkhali.on Thursday morning.
Media Officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters Lieutenant Commander Khandaker Munif Taqi gave this information.
Based on intelligence information, it is learnt that 4 to 5 notorious and most wanted armed robbers are staying in 01 tin house in Mohammad Shah Ghona area of Ward No. 07 of Kalamarchhara Union under Maheshkhali Thana of Cox's Bazar.
On the basis of the information received, a joint operation was conducted in the area on 14 November 2024 at 0520 hours in the morning with the coordination of two alert teams of Bangladesh Coast Guard East Zone and Bangladesh Police.
During the operation, when the armed men tried to run after realizing the presence of the joint forces, the members of the joint forces chased the notorious and violent dacoit group Zia Bahini chief Md. Ziaur Rahman (44) and his partner Md. Mohiuddin (38) two most wanted dacoits by the Bangladesh Police. A foreign pistol, 01 domestic pistol, 02 magazines, 22 rounds of ammunition, 01 domestic Da were seized.
The arrested robbers along with the seized weapons and ammunition are in the process of taking legal action.
