World Food Day celebrated at PUST

The Faculty of Nutrition and Food Science of Patuakhali University of Science and Technology (PUST) celebrated World Food Day through various events on Thursday
In the morning, a colourful rally from the front of the faculty circled the main roads of the campus. Later, a cake cutting and seminar were organized in the meeting room of the Faculty of Agriculture. In addition, anthropometric measurements and health advice were provided as a day-long public awareness program. The university's Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. S. M. Hemayet Jahan spoke as the chief guest at the seminar. He said, "To create a hunger-free Bangladesh, we must first ensure nutritious food for everyone. Through sustainable agriculture and food production, we must build a society where no one will go hungry. At the same time, we must increase awareness about food so that we consume what we need and do not waste it."
University's Student Affairs Advisor and Dean of the Faculty of FBA, Professor Dr. Md. Sujahangir Kabir Sarkar, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Land, Professor Mohammad Jamal Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Science, Professor Shahidul Islam, Patuakhali District Food Safety Officer Md. Abu Raihan, Assistant Professor Nazrul Islam, Mehedi Hasan Mithu, Sumaiya Shahrin and Lecturer Mohibbullah Rubel. The seminar was conducted by the Chairman of the Community Health and Hygiene Department, Sujan Kanti Mali were present.
