Violence spreading in Rangamati : One killed, 50 injured, hundreds of shops ransacked

Violence has spread in the hill town of Rangamati in protest of the Khagrachari violence and the incident of death. At this time, hundreds of shops were vandalized.

The mosque-Buddhist temple was not left out. The journalist's car was burnt. One person was killed and at least half a hundred were injured in the clash between the two sides.

Panic has spread in the public mind in this incident. To normalize the situation, the district administration has issued section 144 in Rangamati town at around 12:30 noon on Friday . This ban will remain in effect until further orders.

Dr Shaukat Akbar Khan, RMO of Rangamati Sadar Hospital, said that an unidentified body was brought to the hospital. The victim has not been identified. 54 people have received treatment. 19 of them have been admitted to hospital.

Rangamati Kotowali police station OC Mohammad Ali said the situation is under control. There is panic among people. The army has entered the field to control the situation.
