Sylhet District Social Services Office holds annual sports, prize distribution programme

Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Director (Deputy Secretary) of the Divisional Social Service Office, Sylhet, said that practicing sports and culture along with studies is beneficial for health. Regular sports keep the body and mind healthy. Therefore, it is necessary to practice sports and healthy culture to develop the latent talents of children.
He made the above remarks as the chief guest at the award distribution ceremony of the Annual Sports and Cultural Competition-2024, held on Tuesday morning at the Orphan School Ground in Bagbari in the city, at the initiative of the Sylhet District Social Services Office.
Prominent journalist and columnist Aftab Chowdhury was present as a special guest at the event, presided over by Deputy Director of the District Social Services Office Md. Abdur Rafiq.
At the beginning of the program, under the direction of City Social Service Officer Shahinur Alam, Ayesha Akhter Brishti, Deputy Superintendent of Government Children's Home (Boys) Bagbari, delivered a welcome speech. Muntaka Chowdhury, Deputy Superintendent of Government Children's Home (Girls) Raynagar, delivered a welcome speech. At the beginning of the program, Md. Badrul Islam, a ninth grade student, recited the Holy Quran from the Holy Quran. Kanika Rani Das, a twelfth grade student, recited the Gita.
