Severe heat : Hospital crowded with patients, shortage of beds in Bhuapur

In extreme heat, the condition of people panting. People are suffering from various heat related diseases including fever, diarrhea, heat stroke.

Due to these reasons, the number of patients is increasing in Bhuyapur Hospital. Hospital authorities are struggling to cope with the pressure of additional patients. Although people of all ages suffer, this heat has overcome children and the elderly the most.

About 60 percent of hospitalized patients are children and elderly. Therefore, doctors advise not to go out of the house unnecessarily, wear cotton clothes and drink more water to stay healthy in summer. According to the sources of Bhuyapur Hospital, after Eid-ul-Fitr, the number of patients in the hospital increases almost two times. Majority of them are children and elderly.

Dr. RMO of Bhuyapur Hospital. Enamul Haque Sohail said that the outbreak of the disease has occurred due to weather changes, lack of rain, heat. At this time, the child's clothes, bed and house should be kept clean. The child's body should be wiped quickly if sweat occurs. Care must be taken that the child does not get cold.

He also said that many are in a holiday mood due to the closure of educational institutions. When schools open, children will turn to outside food, starting with water. This will increase the incidence of water borne diseases as well as diarrhea, jaundice, hepatitis A and E viruses. Especially rickshaw pullers and working class people who work in fields are also prone to heat stroke.

It has been seen on the ground that there are more patients now than at any other time. Huge crowd in front of the ticket counter. Standing in line with tickets in front of the emergency department. The beds, floors, balconies of the children's ward are crowded with patients and their relatives.

Bhuapur Hospital Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Abdus Sobhan said, it is better not to take children out of the house or the sun at this time of summer. Children cannot adapt to rapid changes in weather like adults. Fever, diarrhea or loose stools, dehydration ie, lack of water in the body are more common during summer.

In this situation of summer, fruit juice, canned water, lemon juice, saline, glucose and nutritious juicy fruits should be eaten more. It will fulfill the demand of water that comes out of the body through sweat. However, due to the heat, cold water, ice or different kinds of syrups and open food should be avoided on the roadside.

Children should wear loose clothes in this summer, take bath regularly. Children must be fed boiled water and fresh food during this time.
