The Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament 2024 was held in Kamalganj, Moulvibaza on Monday afternoon.

Kamalganj Upazila Administration and Primary Education Office organized the closing game and award distribution ceremony at the Tilakpur ground in the upazila. Upazila Executive Officer (Acting) and Assistant Commissioner (Land) DM Sadiq Al Shafin were present as the chief guest.

The event, chaired by Upazila Primary Education Officer Saiful Islam Talukder and moderated by Headmaster Sirajul Islam, was attended by special guests including District BNP Convening Committee member Durud Ahmed, former Upazila BNP President and former Kamalganj Sadar UP Chairman Golam Kibria Shafi, Upazila Jamaat Islami Amir Md. Masum Mia, Upazila BNP Convening Committee Senior Joint Convener Anwar Hossain Babu, Joint Convener Abul Hossain, Kamalganj Municipality BNP Former Member Secretary Md. Shafiqur Rahman, Assistant Education Officers Soma Bhattacharya and Joy Kumar Hazra, Kamalganj Press Club Convener M. A. Wahid Rulu, Member Secretary Ahmeduzzaman Alam, Kamalganj Reporters Unity President Pintu Debnath and Journalist Salauddin Shuvo.

Among others, Headmaster Mosahid Ali and representatives of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Imad Ahmed and Bhuiyan Rajan Reza spoke.

In the final match, Baghmara Primary School (boys' team) defeated Dr. Cherag Uddin Government Primary School by 5-3 goals in a trybreaker.

On the other hand, in the tournament (girls' team), Kawargala Government Primary School defeated Kamudpur Government Primary School by 2-0 goals. 20 teams from the upazila participated in the tournament.
