6th Sylhet Book Fair-25 inaugurated

The 11-day-long '6th Sylhet Book Fair 25' has been inaugurated at the city's central Shaheed Minar premises on Tuesday afternoon.
Independent Director of the Board of Directors of the state-owned fuel oil marketing company Jamuna Oil Company Limited (JOCL), essayist and orator Saleh Ahmed Khasru inaugurated the book fair.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, he said, books are the main medium for acquiring and spreading the light of knowledge. We need to develop our young generation for future leadership. Our youth have shown in the bloody July movement that they are not only talented but also indomitable. To make the victory of 24 meaningful, the young generation must be made book-oriented. For this, the book fair is an effective initiative. I believe that the 6th Sylhet Book Fair-25 will play a leading role in making the people of Sylhet book-oriented.
The event was attended by the principal poet Kalam Azad as the main discussant.
The opening ceremony was attended by Md. Jasim Uddin, member secretary of the book fair implementation committee and head of Jasim Book House Publishing House.
The event was addressed by poet and writer Delwara Begum, poet Shahadat Bakht Shahed, staff reporter of Daily Naya Diganta and senior reporter of Daily Jalalabad MJH Jamil, president of Alor Anbeshan, poet Sajan Ahmed Saju, Liaquat Ali Khan, president of Jasim Book House Sahitya Parishad, Chaiful Alam Parul, etc. In addition, journalists, writers, poets, and representatives of the society were present.
