Press accreditation cards of 20 pro-Awami League journalists scrapped

The Pres Information Department has canceled the press accreditation cards of 20 journalists and officials known as Bangladesh Awami supporters.
A letter was sent to the concerned persons on Tuesday scrapping their cards. It was signed by Principal Information Officer (Ongoing duty). Nizamul Kabir.
It is said that in the light of Articles 6.9, 6.10, 9.5 and 9.6 of the Press Accreditation Policy, the permanent and temporary press accreditation cards issued by the Press Information Department in favour of these journalists and individuals have been cancelled.
The journalists whose cards were canceled are- Former DG of Press Institute of Bangladesh Zafar Wazed, former Minister (Press) of New Delhi High Commission in India and journalist leader Shaban Mahmud, Chief Editor of Ekatar TV Mozammel Haque and Special Correspondent Farzana Rupa, Editor and Publisher of WomenNews24.com Farida Yasmin, Editor of The Daily Observer Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Shyamal Dutt, Editor of Bhorer Kagaz, Naeem Nizam, Editor of Bangladesh Pratidin, Subhas Chandra Singh Roy, Editor-in-Chief of ABNews24.com, Freelance Journalist Syed Borhan Kabir, News Editor-in-Chief of ATN News, Munni Saha, Naeemul Islam Khan, Editor-in-Chief of Our Time.com, Faraji Ajmal, Special Correspondent of Dainik Bangla. Hossain, Head of News of Ekatar TV Shakil Ahmed, Editor of Daily Dhaka Times Mohammad Arifur Rahman, Former Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of BASS Abul Kalam Azad, Freelance Journalist Mithila Farzana, Head of News of Baisakhi TV Ashok Chowdhury and Editor of DBC News Pranab Saha.
