M'singh road mishap leaves 8 including 3 of same family dead

Seven people including three of a same family have been killed in three separate road accidents in Mymensingh district.

The accidents happened from the morning to till 2:00pm. Three were killed in the Sadar, three in Trishal and one in Tarakanda upazilas.

Three passengers on board a Mahendra three-wheeler were killed being rammed by a Tangail-bound passenger bus at Lengrabazar area under Sadar upazila in the early afternoon. All three of them belonged to the same family. The deceased are Lutfar Rahman, 30, his wife Shahnaj, 25, and a baby boy Mahit, 2. Baby boy Mahith died on the spot while the rest two succumbed at Mymensingh Medical College Hosital. Another person who was injured in the accident is now undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Mymensingh Kotwali Police Station OC Main Uddin said the deceased hailed from Dighirpar area under Jhenigati upazila in Sherpur district. The couple used to work at a garment factory at Masterbari area under Bhaluka upazila. They were returning home receiving Eid holidays but died in tragic road accident on their way to home. Later police went to the spot and recovered the bodies.

Besides, two people were killed right on the spot when a passenger bus coming from the opposite direction rammed a pick-up near Madani CNG Pump on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway under Trishal upazila. Of the deceased, Maruf hailed from Ishwarganj and Apel Mia from Nandail upazilas.

Moreover, two autorickshaw passengers were killed being rammed by a speeding bus on Trishal-Tangail road at Baliara in Trishal.
