International Disaster Reduction Day was celebrated in Porsha with the slogan "Independent Initiative, Prevent Disaster".
On the occasion, a rally and discussion meeting were held at Porsha, Naogaon, organized by the Upazila Administration (Disaster Management Branch) at 11 am on Monday. The rally was led by UNO Rakibul Islam. Later, UNO Rakibul Islam, Animal Resources Officer Jahangir Alam and Project Implementation Officer Mahmudul Haque Titu spoke at a brief discussion meeting in the Upazila Parishad premises. Upazila Social Service Officer Shahidul Islam, Fire Service Team Leader Moazzem Hossain, Assistant Programmer Zakaria and students of local educational institutions were present.
