Human chain demanding punishment to killers of Ashiq in Baraigram

A human chain was formed in Baraigram Upazila of Natore to protest the killing of former Organizing Secretary of Chandai Ward Chhatra League Ashiq Sarkar (24) and to demand immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the killers.
This human chain was held at the initiative of local people at Chandai Bazar on Rajapur-Jonail road on Friday last.
Ashiq Sarkar is the son of Miron Sarkar, a fisher man of Chandai village in the upazila. The deceased's father Miron Sarkar, Chandai UP Awami League President Md. Samsuzzaman Golam, general secretary. Mujibur Rahman, Joint General Secretary Rafiqul Islam, Organizing Secretary Wadud Sarkar etc speak nin the human chain.
Speakers said that on June 15 before Eid, Miron Sarkar was attacked by his opponents while he reached on the paved road near the house of Karim Kha in Chandai village after selling fish from Rajapur market.
At that time, his son Ashiq came forward and was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital with bloody injuries due to the opponent's attack. He died on June 30 while he was under treatment there.
In this regard, an accused Zahidul (45) is now in jail. The other accused are roaming around evading arrest and threatening the victim's father Miron Sarkar and his family in various ways.
