Hour-long rail blockade in Mymensingh
Mymensingh Correspondent
Students of Ananda Mohan College and some other educational institutions of Mymensingh city imposed a nearly hour-long blockade of rail tracks from 3.40pm Sunday causing a Jamalpur-bound passenger train to stay stuck.
Though the train was allowed to move after forty minutes, the protest organisers said they would be forced to enforce stricter measures in the days to come in solidarity with the nationwide student movement against the reinstatement of quota system.
Mymensingh Railway Station Superintendent Md Nazmul Haque confirmed the blocking of rail tracks by students.
It is worth noting that students of the Bangladesh Agriculture University have blocked the rail tracks though Mymensingh district twice since 1 July.
