The Board of Education has dismissed the headmaster of Arjuna Mohsin High School of Tangail's Bhuyapur Upazila. The head teacher Kazi Zahurul Islam has been ordered to be dismissed due to sexual harassment, immoral activities and immoral proposals to the assistant teacher of that school.

This order was given in a letter signed by Prof Azad Hossain Chowdhury, Secretary of the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education on Tuesday.

Before this, the assistant teacher (English) of Arjuna Mohsin High School filed a written complaint against the head teacher of sexual harassment and bad suggestions with the authorities.

The letter of dismissal said that the allegations of "immoral proposals to the assistant teacher (English), immoral acts and sexual harassment" brought against Arjuna Mohsin High School headmaster (retd) Kazi Zahurul were proved and the decision of the managing committee was recommended to be approved. In such circumstances, the appeal and arbitration committee of the board meeting dated 10/12/2024 after thorough analysis of the recommendations of the inquiry report and the allegations made by the managing committee recommended that he be relieved from service as the final dismissal was proved and the 233rd board held on 19/12/2024 The issue of the final dismissal of Kazi Zahurul, Headmaster (retrieved) of the school mentioned in the meeting got approval.

Teachers and students of Arjuna Mohsin High School said that headmaster Kazi Zahurul was a corrupt, characterless person. He looked down on school teachers. Although he was repeatedly asked to reform, he used the influence of the Awami League government and misused his power to commit irregularities and immoral activities in the school. A teacher later filed a sexual harassment complaint against him under duress.

Upazila Secondary Education Officer SM Moniruzzaman said that he received the letter of the education board to dismiss the headmaster of Ajurna Mohsin High School Kazi Zahurul.
