Dhaka District North Detective Police (DB) arrested two friends in connection with the death of garment worker Mofizul by shooting in Kathgara area of Ashulia in Savar on Tuesday.

Investigation revealed information about the plan of shooting a friend out of the house by staging a robbery drama over drug money dispute.

On Tuesday noon, he gave a statement under section 164 in the court. The arrested are Nitya Nanda Sutradhar and Johnny Molla, friends of deceased Mofizul. The village houses of Nitya Nanda, Johnny and the deceased Mofizul are at the same place in the village next to Nagarpur police station in Tangail. Nitya Nanda and Mofizul were living in the same room in Kathgara area of Ashulia. Johnny also rents another house nearby. Johnny and Nitya Nanda are garage mechanics by profession. The deceased Mofizul was a garment worker.

DB Police said , according to the information of the arrested accused and investigation, it is initially known that Johnny and Mofizul had an argument over the dispute over drug money. Based on that, Johnny plans to discipline Mofizul. In the early hours of Thursday (March 23), Johnny went next door and heard the window open.

Meanwhile, the people of that house started shouting that they are robbers. As per the plan, Nitya Nanda as accomplice sends Mofizul out of the house as the dacoits are coming. Nitya Nanda also followed. Meanwhile, Johnny Molla, who was already taking oath, shot his friend Mofizul and ran away.

In this regard, Additional Superintendent of Police (DB) Mobashshira Habib Khan of Dhaka District said that two people have been arrested in this incident. One pleaded guilty in court.

The other Johnny Mollah has been sent to the court with a remand application. It can be said more definitely after the interrogation.

Everything cannot be disclosed now for the sake of investigation, police said.
