On the occasion of the National Occupational Health and Safety Day 2024, a rally and discussion meeting was held at Rangamati with the theme “Healthy laborer, beautiful working environment will build smart Bangladesh”.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan presided over the discussion meeting organized by the District Administration and Rangamati Industries and Institutions Inspection Directorate in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner on Sunday morning.

The Deputy Commissioner said in the meeting that it is very important to ensure a beautiful and safe working environment for the workers. It is the responsibility of employers of workers in hazardous occupations to ensure that health risks to workers are avoided. Then the economy of Bangladesh will be more prosperous.

He said that tobacco is currently being cultivated. Tobacco farmers involved in tobacco farming are exposed to health risks. There is a need to sensitize tobacco farmers in Rangamati.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Saiful Islam, Police Inspector Md Shahinur Rahman Rangamati Chamber of Commerce Director Mohammad Harunur Rashid, Rangamati Factory and Establishment Inspection Directorate Labor Inspector (General) Md Zahirul Islam, Labor Inspector (Health) Parag Das, Labor Inspector were present. (Health) Md. Khairul Bashar, District Food Safety Officer Md. Muntasir and other workers engaged in various professions were present.

Earlier in the morning, the rally came out from the office premises of the Deputy Commissioner and went around the various roads of the city. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.
