
Fire in Raozan : Sleeping schoolboy dies

A schoolboy named Mohammad Faisal (11) died while sleeping in a fire in Raozan, Chittagong.
The incident took place at 1:30 am on Saturday at the Gani Haji house in Paschim Dabua village of Dabua Union.
He is the younger son of Mohammad Rahmat Ullah of the area and is studying in the 6th grade of Raozan Salamat Ullah High School after passing out from Raozan B RC School. Locals said that the fire broke out in three houses from the kitchen stove. The owners of these houses are Md. Musa, Md. Yusuf and Md. Idris Mia. At that time, a schoolboy named Mohammad Faisal was injured after suffocating in the heat and smoke of the fire in the nearby pucca building. He was later rescued and taken to the hospital, where he died. According to sources from the Raozan Fire Service, the fire started at 1:30 am. The flames spread and burned the daily necessities stored in the kitchen. The flames spread to the concrete building, causing extensive damage there as well.
The incident was confirmed by the station officer of the Raozan Fire Service and Civil Defense, Shasul Alam. The family is mourning the tragic death.
