DU VC inaugurates vehicle control barriers, security, surveillance boxes on campus

Vehicle control barriers and security and surveillance boxes installed at 7 entrances to control vehicles on the Dhaka University campus have been inaugurated.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan inaugurated these newly constructed barriers and security and surveillance boxes as the chief guest at a function at the entrance of the university adjacent to Palashi intersection on Thursday.
Treasurer Prof Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Proctor Associate Prof Saifuddin Ahmed and Deputy Police Commissioner of Ramna Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Masud Alam along with officials of the university's Engineering Department and Estate Office were present at the inauguration ceremony.
These barriers and security and surveillance boxes have been installed at the university's Palashi intersection, Nilkhet intersection, Shaheed Minar, Shahbagh, Shahidullah Hall, High Court intersection and Shibbari Crossing intersection.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan expressed his sincere gratitude to those involved in this program. He said that these barriers and security and surveillance boxes have been installed to control the movement of stickerless cars, public transport and heavy vehicles on the campus and the entry of outsiders.
He expressed hope that these barriers and security and surveillance boxes will play an effective role in strengthening the overall security system of the university and preventing unwanted incidents. He sought everyone's cooperation in the successful implementation of this initiative.
