Bangladesh Awami League Presidium Member and Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation ( RCC) AHM Khairuzzaman Liton on Monday said, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangladesh are inseparable.

To know Bangladesh, you have to know Bangabandhu. If you know Bangabandhu again, Bangladesh will be known.

He said this while addressing as the chief guest at a discussion meeting titled 'Bangabandhu and Bangladesh' organized by Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Sangsad, Rajshahi Metropolitan Unit Command on the occasion of August 15 National Mourning Day.

This discussion meeting was organized at Rajshahi District Shilpakala Academy on Monday from 11 am to 1.30 pm. The brave freedom fighters of the city participated in the meeting.

AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, member of the presidium of Awami League, said that Bangabandhu is a great hero. Therefore, we call him not only the Bengali of a thousand years, but the greatest Bengali of all time, also called by the people of the 20th century. Bangladesh would not have become independent if Bangabandhu was not born.

RCC Mayor Khairuzzaman Liton also said that Bangabandhu was given only 3 years and 8 months to build the country after independence. In this short period of time, he started various works to build the country. Together they nationalized about 37 thousand primary schools.

Bangabandhu bought various gas fields from Shell Company. We are still getting gas supply from those gas fields. Stating that there has been a strong demand for the formation of a commission, Rasik Mayor Khairuzzaman Liton said, who are the people behind Bangabandhu's murder and who are the beneficiaries should be found out. Ziaur Rahman was number one among the local agents in killing Bangabandhu. Apart from Ziaur Rahman and his family, there are many other beneficiaries.

They have to find out. Bangladesh Muktijodha Sangsad, former commander of the Rajshahi metropolitan unit command, Dr. Bir Muktijodha. Md. Prof. Nurul Alam, President of Bangabandhu Parishad, Rajshahi Metropolitan, was the main discussant in the meeting under the chairmanship of Abdul Mannan.
