Army distributes food items to Christian villages in remote hills

On the occasion of the biggest religious festival of Christians, the Army has distributed food items in the remote hills of Thanchi upazila of Bandarban.

On Saturday at 12 am, the food items were distributed to the people of Pratapara in Baklai Para subzone, which is under the responsibility of 16 East Bengal Regiment.

On behalf of the commander of The Majestic Tigers, the subzone commander of the Army subzone distributed food items (40 kg of rice, 10 kg of pulses, 10 liters of oil, 10 kg of sugar, 5 kg of tea leaves, 5 kg of salt and related spices) to the people of the village.

After receiving the donation, the religious leader of the Community Baptist Church in Pratapara area, Sar Tling Bom, and the acting business man, Paktlirang Bom, said, "This is our big religious festival. With the help of the army, we will be able to organize the festival with our neighbors and families.

Regarding the organization of the Christmas festival, the commander of the 16th East Bengal Regiment said, there will be patrolling by the army along with law enforcement officers in the churches. The army is determined to maintain harmony among all the communities living in the hills as well as to ensure the security of all.
