Fake juice factory found in Laksam The mobile court raided the fake juice factory in Laksam, Cumilla.

The factory has been manufacturing various types of fake baby food including fake fruity juice, lychee drinks, robot juice, speed ice lolly, sevenup ice lolly, tamarind pickle, braai pickle, Fahim's pickle, fresh special chutney, tiktok chips, fake fruity juice, lychee drinks, robot juice, speed ice lolly, sevenup ice lolly, tamarind pickle, braai pickle, Fahim's pickle, fresh special chutney, Tiktok chips, etc. Fahim Hossain was doing packaging and marketing.

BSTI officials said that eating these juices and drinks made with unhealthy and toxic chemicals causes various types of stomach pain, kidney disorders and mental development of children.

On Saturday at night , the mobile court raided the fake juice and unhealthy baby food factory. Laksam Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Abdul Hai Siddiqui and Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Sifatun Nahar seized and destroyed a large amount of goods of the factory in a mobile court raid.

Fahim Hossain, son of Tajul Islam of Mirersarai Paschimpara, Chittagong, was running the factory for a long time in Ershad Ullah's tin shed building in Paschimgaon Thakur Para.

Not finding the owner of the factory during the operation, the executive magistrate of the mobile court, Md. Abdul Hai Siddiqui, sent the factory manager Sahabuddin (22) to Cumilla Jail with one month's imprisonment and one more month's imprisonment in default of payment of a fine of one lakh taka. Manager Sahabuddin is the son of Sahidul Islam of Gayarbhanga village of Belghar South Union of Lalmai Upazila.

BSTI Cumilla District Office Inspector Arif Uddin, Field Officer Aminul Islam Shakeel, Laxam Police Station Deputy Inspector Ashraful Islam led the police force in conducting the operation.
