7 vie for VC at PSTU

There is no Vice chancellor now at Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) located in Dumki Upazila of Patuakhali district. As former VC Prof. Dr. Swadesh Chandra Samant voluntarily resigned.
According to sources, 6 people who lost their jobs during the Awami League government got back their jobs after the new government came after Sheikh Hasina fled in the anti-discrimination student movement on 5 August 24.
A senior teacher who suffered discrimination got promoted and became a professor. Teacher Md. Saiful Islam and Md. Mehedi Hasan, driver Abdul Quader, employee Md. Mustafa Howlader, section officer K. M Shahadat Hossain Nantu Mia got their job back.
All these decisions have already been taken in the meeting of the Board of Regents. Those who have submitted their CVs to become VC are teacher professor Dr. Hemayet Jahan, Professor Dr. Mahabub Rabbani, Professor Dr. Md. Delwar Hossain, Prof. Jamal Hossain, Prof. Md. Mohsin Hossain Khan, Prof. Md. Saiful Islam, Prof. Md. Habibur Rahman. According to several sources of the campus, if the VC is not appointed soon, the salary of the teaching staff will not be paid for the next month and the daily activities of the VC may be deadlocked if they do not have financial capacity.
In the list of new VC, the current registrar Professor Dr. Hemayte Jahan is said to be leading.
