‘IIT Day’ was celebrated on Monday at the Student-Teacher Center Auditorium to welcome and farewell the students of Dhaka University Institute of Information Technology.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan was present as the chief guest at the event.

The day-long event was chaired by the Institute’s Director Prof Dr. B. M. Mainul Hossain, and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Professor Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. Mamun Ahmed and Treasurer Prof Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury spoke as special guests at various stages.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said that Dhaka University is an important part of society. The society and the people of the country have many expectations from this university. Students have to play a responsible role in fulfilling these expectations. We should make good use of time and develop as skilled human resources. We should follow the guidelines of teachers and guardians. He said that acquiring various language skills, giving speeches, proposal and project writing, essay writing, improving communication skills, etc., play a helpful role in developing as skilled human resources. He called on the students to achieve good results in their studies and also to acquire skills in various co-curricular activities.

In the first phase of the day-long program, the freshmen reception of the students of the undergraduate program of the 2023-2024 academic year was held. In the second phase, the farewell reception was given to the students of the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th batches of the institute. In addition, a pleasant cultural program was performed with the participation of the students of the institute.
