263 dengue patients hospitalised in a day

A total of 263 people were hospitalised with dengue fever across the country in 24 hours till Thursday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the new patients, 164 were hospitalised in Dhaka, while the rest were outside the capital, it added.
A total of 5,250 dengue cases and 50 deaths have been reported since January 1, 2024.
Some 484 patients are receiving treatment in different hospitals across the country.
Last year, a total of 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
