White bucks mating across the crop fields in Cumilla Sunlight was not much visible in winter yesterday.
The sky was covered in a blanket of fog. As soon as you walk along the side of the road, you can see flocks of white bucks. During the winter, farmers prepare their fallen seedbeds and lands for borodhan, and rows of white bucks can be seen in all these lands.
The atmosphere of winter is now present in nature and in this nature, the flocks of white bucks flying amidst the symbol of green and beautiful beauty, it makes nature lovers' hearts flutter. The flocks of white bucks in the Boro crop fields are like a symbol of the unique beauty of eternal Bengal.
At this time, groups of native white bucks flock to various crop fields, rivers and water bodies of the upazila in search of food. During cultivation, hundreds of hawks fly around the plowed fields.
They eat insects under the soil. Meanwhile, people of all ages enjoy watching flocks of white hawks. Such a scene can be seen in the Indabati area of Sarezmin Burichang Upazila.
The sky is surrounded by white clouds and fog, the position of the white hawks on the muddy soil of the farmer's land, as if they are one in a million. It seems like a hawk's sanctuary. At one time, white hawks were seen in abundance in beels, ponds, ponds, and crop fields. They usually nest in the hollows of trees. And the main food of this bird is fish and insects. Apart from this, their role in controlling insects in crop fields is immense.
This bird is now almost extinct. This hawk is only seen in rural areas and on the banks of rivers during the winter season. Local resident Habibur Rahman said, white pheasants start coming to this area from winter, and then start leaving as soon as winter ends. This area is filled with their flying and chirping. Many people come to see this scene. Local farmer Lokman Mia said, I heard from my grandparents that at one time white pheasants could be seen in almost every pond in rural Bengal.
Now they are not seen often. That is why anyone is fascinated by seeing so many pheasants together here. Every day many people come to see the birds flying and feeding in groups. In this regard, Cumilla Agricultural Extension Department Deputy Director (DD) Ayub Mahmud said yesterday, white pheasants are a very well-known bird.
They are seen more in the haor region of Bangladesh. However, comparatively, there are not many in this area. They come here in search of food according to the law of nature. They benefit the crops by eating harmful insects in the crop fields. All beneficial birds, including birds of prey, eat insects in crop fields, which helps the soil get its full nutrition.
