Sub-Registrar insulted in Chauddagram : Document registry activities closed, service recipients suffering
Zakir Azad, Cumilla
The document registry activities in Chauddagram, Cumilla , have been closed for 4 working days due to insulting the sub-registrar.
Various service recipients, including document donors, recipients and those who extract documents from different parts of the country, are suffering due to this. Service recipients from different parts of the country, including Dhaka and Chittagong, came without informing them in advance about the non-arrival of the sub-registrar and returned with various comments.
Several document writers, who did not want to be named, said that they have stopped the document registry activities at the Chauddagram Sub-Registrar Office since Wednesday, February 4, due to the incident of insulting the document writer and the recipient of the document. According to sources from the Chauddagram Sub-Registrar Office, Mohammad Hanif, a document writer belonging to the Chauddagram Sub-Registrar Office Document Writers Association, entered the sub-registrar's private room on Tuesday (February 4) afternoon to execute a document for a 22-hundred-square plot of land in the municipality. At that time, the additional sub-registrar Mehedi Hasan, who was on additional duty, saw the defective paper and asked the vendor Hanif to bring a 100% accurate document. Angered by this, the vendor along with the recipient of the document, Md. Shahid of Chandishkar of the municipality, insulted the sub-registrar. Due to this incident, the sub-registrar did not come to work until February 10.
The document givers and recipients have suffered. It is worth noting that since Chauddagram Sub-Registrar Omar Faruk left on December 23 last year due to transfer, Gunwati Sub-Registrar Mehedi Hasan is performing additional duties at the Chauddagram office. On Wednesday, it was also seen that Rafiqul Islam, Shafiqul Islam, and Farida Begum Gong of Buddin village, who came to take possession of the 22nd century land, said, "We had come from Dhaka on the scheduled Wednesday (February 5) to execute a document. But here I learned that the sub-registrar was absent due to internal problems. We all live in Dhaka due to work, we came from Dhaka by renting a microbus, now we have to return without executing the document." Abdul Momin, who came from Alkara village of Alkara union of the upazila, said, "I sold the land for money, but today I have to return because there is no sub-registrar.
The buyer is not paying money without the land registry. If you don't get money in times of trouble, what's the point of selling the land! Idris Mia, who came from Komalla village in Gholpasha union to execute the documents of the land purchased for building a new house, said, "I live outside the area due to work. My children have grown up. I am returning on Thursday (February 6) to execute the documents to build a new house for my children." Document writer Mominul Islam said, I was supposed to have two documents registered on Wednesday. One of which is a distribution deed.
A partner in the distribution deed will leave the country tomorrow. Some are coming from the city. In such a situation, everyone is affected. He also said, "I was not at the scene last Tuesday, but when I came to the office, I learned that the sub-registrar sir was not at fault. Outsiders came to the scene and insulted him."
At the time of the incident, the association's president Shahnewaz Shahin and document writer Mominul Islam were at the scene. I did not insult him. He (the sub-registrar) is probably not coming for personal reasons.
Chauddagram Document Writers Association President Shahnewaz Shahin said, I was not at the scene that day (February 4) as it was late in the evening. I came to know later. However, I came to know that he was not coming to the sub-registrar's office citing personal reasons. Chauddagram Sub-Registrar Mehedi Hasan (additional responsibility) said, he has no intention of working here. I have already informed the District Registrar about the matter.
I will be working at the Gunwati Sub-Registry Office regularly from now on. District Registrar Monirul Hasan said, Mehedi Hasan is working at the Chauddagram Sub-Registry Office as an additional responsibility. He said that Mehedi Hasan was insulted by a document writer and the recipient of his document on Tuesday.
In such a situation, many (sub-registrars) are not willing to come to the Chauddagram Sub Registry Office. I hope the problem will be resolved soon.
