Students gather in Gazipur to join protest rally

The students of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement are gathering at Rajbari Field in Gazipur to join a protest rally against the attack on students in the area.
On Friday night, after receiving reports of an attack on the ancestral home of former Minister of Liberation War Affairs A.K.M. Mozammel Haque in the Dhirashram area of Gazipur Metropolitan City, leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement went to the scene. However, they were allegedly attacked in a planned assault by leaders and activists of the Awami League, Jubo League, and Chhatra League.
At least 15 people were injured in the attack, with five of them critically wounded. The critically injured were transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Friday night for advanced treatment.
In protest of the attack, leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement staged a demonstration in Gazipur Metropolitan City the same night, demanding the immediate arrest of the attackers.
Meanwhile, Hasnat Abdullah, the convener of the movement, and Sarjis Alam, the central coordinator, arrived in Gazipur at night to check on the injured students. Around 3 AM on Friday night, they visited the injured individuals receiving treatment at Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital.
