Suhrawardy Gardens have allotted a unit stall to 212 institutions, two units got 20, three units got 5, four units got 4 units. Twenty -two companies have received 20/21 size pavilions, 5/20 -size pavilions have got 5 companies. There is a pavilion allotted to the Bangla Academy for the Bangla Academy in the Bangla Academy Square. One unit got one unit in the children's premises, two units got 5, three units got 20 institutions. This time no organization has been allotted to any organization in the children's premises.

Amar Ekushey Book Fair is widely known to us as Ekushey Book Fair. One of the traditional fairs of independent Bangladesh is as ancient as independent Bangladesh.

As far as it is known, on February 8, Shri Chittaranjan Saha started a book fair by decorating 12 books brought from Kolkata on a piece of chattala in front of the Burdwan House of Bangla Academy. These 12 books were books by Bangladeshi refugee writers living in India during the liberation war published by Chittaranjan Saha (now Muktadhara Publications).

The Bangla Academy arranged for the sale of books published by the Academy at a special reduced price from February 1 to February 25 on the occasion of the Great Ekushey Mela. In addition, Muktadhara, Standard Publishers and some others arranged to sell their books on the Bangla Academy field.

The Bangla Academy organized the National Literary Conference on February 7. On this occasion, the Bangla Academy organized its own published book show and mural exhibition. Professor Abu Mohammad Habibullah inaugurated the book exhibition.

In front of the masses, various publishing companies in Dhaka along the walls of the Academy arranged for the sale of books by building some stalls in their choice. The Bangla Academy did not have any role in it except just the field.

In the 5th, the Academy specified for publishers with lime stains. Publishers make stalls and arrange for selling books. This situation continued for up to 5 years. Until that time, there was no recognition of the event. No name was given. There was no mention in the newspaper report.

This program was not mentioned in the program of the Bangla Academy from 12 to 8 years.

Ashraf Siddiqui, the then Director General of the Bangla Academy, directly associated the Bangla Academy with the fair.

Bangladesh Book Dealers and Publishers Association was associated with the fair in the 5th. This company was also founded by Chittaranjan Saha. At that time, the book fair was held from February 1 to February 25 on the occasion of the immortal Ekushey. The name of the fair was Ekushey Book Fair.

The Ekushey Book Fair of the 5th is reduced to 5 days instead of 20 days. But in the face of the demands of the publishers, the tenure of the fair was re -extended in 12 days. The organizer of the fair is Bangla Academy. The cooperation was the National Library Center and the Bangladesh Book Publisher and Seller Association.

The National Library Center was excluded as an associate organization of the fair in the 5th. The fair has been renamed as 'Amar Ekushey Book Fair' since the beginning of the fair.

Due to the increase in the number of publishers, the range of the fair is increased. The small fair of those 12 books has become a book of Bengali life. The author has become a publisher readers' Mahamilan Tirtha.

Earlier, the book fair was held every year from the first day of February to February 25. Subsequently, the fair is being held regularly at the Bangla Academy premises from 7th to February, according to the application of buyers, visitors and sellers.
