Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said in a tearful voice that Shaheed Abu Sayeed is the pride of Rangpur, the best son of the nation. I am grateful for the opportunity to speak at Shaheed Abu Sayeed Chattar.

He said this as the chief guest at a road meeting held at Shaheed Abu Sayeed Chattar, the intersection of the city park, in front of the main gate of Rangpur Begum Rokeya University, on Thursday night.

From 9:30 to 10 pm, in the presence of a large crowd, breaking through the blanket of winter fog and tearing through the darkness, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that after the conquest of Mecca, the Prophet (PBUH) forgave the infidels. However, he ordered the killing of the identified murderers and implemented it. So who are we to forgive the murderers? These murderers cannot be forgiven. We want them hanged. He said, that day, thousands of fresh souls joined the royal party along with Shaheed Abu Sayeed to confront and resist the fascists who were oppressing the nation. The nation saw a procession of corpses across the country. Many of them were martyred, permanently disabled. In exchange for their unshakable sacrifice and lives, the fascist murderers were freed. A 2-month-old baby lost his mother. A wife lost her husband. A mother lost her child. Hundreds of youth became blind and disabled. This nation is a nation of heroes. Hopefully, many brothers from home and abroad have stood by these helpless families.

The Ameer-e-Jamaat said, the struggle will continue to build a society free from exploitation and discrimination, free from terrorism and discrimination, for the cause for which the martyrs of the July-August Revolution sacrificed their lives.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "We will take revenge for the killing of our children, husbands and brothers by establishing the laws of Allah on this land." Jamaat-e-Islami is working towards that goal. We are not working to become leaders, but to serve the people. None of you should harass anyone unnecessarily by extorting, attacking or filing cases. He said many people said that if there was no Awami League, 500,000 people would be killed in 3 days. By the infinite mercy of Allah, people have been patient; everyone has played their responsible role peacefully. None of this happened.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Central Assistant Secretary General and Rangpur-Dinajpur Regional Director Maulana Abdul Halim, Central Working Committee Member and Rangpur-Dinajpur Regional Assistant Director Principal Maulana Momtaz Uddin, Central Working Committee Member and Rangpur-Dinajpur Regional Team Member Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal were special guests at the rally organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Rangpur Metropolitan Tajhat Police Station Branch.

The road meeting held under the chairmanship of Jamaat-e-Islami Rangpur Metropolitan Ameer Vice- Principal Maulana ATM Azam Khan, District Ameer Professor Golam Rabbani, District Secretary Maulana Enamul Haque, Metropolitan Secretary Anwarul Haque Kajal, Assistant Secretary Professor Raihan Siraji, Kotwali Police Station Ameer Maulana Golam Kibria, General Secretary of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Land Port Workers Union and Assistant Regional Director of Bangladesh Shromik Kollayan Federation Rangpur-Dinajpur Region Professor Abul Hashem Badal, Jamaat leader Shah Muhammad Nur Hossain and Principal Abdul Gani, Islami Chhatra Shibir Metropolitan President Nurul Huda, District Shibir President Firoz Mahmud spoke among others.
